Over a 100 visitors a day.

November 5, 2007

I know that’s not very many but, the trend is that the number is on the up.

We still haven’t had anyone travelling from London to Brimingham

or from London to Leeds or London to Glasgow

The work on the facebook application continues and some work on the stability of the system needs to be done. That’s all for today

Most popular stations and journeys

October 22, 2007

The telltrains forums are now online, and we’ve recently added the most popular stations

As you would expect London, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Reading and Brighton

make the top 10. Some of the surprises are Stevenage and Portsmouth, I wouldn’t have expected these guys to beat Clapham Junction.

Popular searches

October 21, 2007

Here are some of the popular searches that people are doing.

Edinburgh to Penzance

Bristol to leeds

Birmingham to Glasgow

Liverpool to Southampton

Cardiff to London

It seems cross country train rides are more popular than I had expected. I’ll be putting up the

other searches that people do online in the next few days.

Commuter friendly train website

August 16, 2007

Every commuter in Britain should have their own mycommute page on telltrains. Something like http://www.telltrains.com/vikram/work or http://www.telltrains.com/vikram/home which should work on a mobile phone on this page the commuter can define all the ways they can get to work or home.

Information about which route is best to take now, which station they should head as they walkout of the office.

Filter trains

May 11, 2007

No its not a new train company. I’ve added a new feature to the results page so that trains can be filtered in or out.

For example if you want to travel from London to Manchester you’ll probably find two types of journeys. The direct  train from Euston to Manchester or one where the journey is broken at Strafford. The new filters allow you to either only show direct trains or trains with 1 or fewer changes or train on a particular route or trains within a certain timeframe.

Enjoy.

The start

April 21, 2007

The first step is the hardest. Or so they say. We’ve started now.

Like incorporate the company, pick a name, register the website, design a logo, and make life better for people who travel by trains. If you live in the UK, trains are a part of your life.

We are going to build a site that will make it easier for travellers to compare trains and fares. We have a lot of ideas. Stay tuned.
